So I plan to go out to Chubb tomorrow. I've ridden it before, but always in warmer weather. Can anyone tell me how long snow/ice will stay on the trail in the various places? For what it's worth, I plan to go on foot for a trail run, starting at Lone Elk and doing a 10 mile total run, five miles out-and-back.

South and west facing aspects should be mostly free of snow (Chubb Shelter up to the picnic bench). However, north and east facing slopes will probably still have snow and ice on them (Lone Elk hill down to the tracks and from the river up to the picnic table). Flats will most likely be mixed but after today I don't think the snow will be too much of a problem. It is supposed to be cold enough tonight to freeze things up but the weather man says tomorrow might be warmer with some possible showers, so go early and try to be out before noon. Good luck running at Chubb, she's a monster for trail runs. Might be worth driving the extra 10 minutes and running from the Chubb side.
