Basement Blowout

SOLD

$650.00

Aww damn. This ride is hard to part with as I've always had a blast on this rig. It needs a new home as it doesn't get much use over the past 4 years sitting idle in the basement plotting revenge on its titanium cousin. Features a mix of solid bomb proof components.

Type: 29er cross-country single speed suspensionless awesomeness with geared optionals

Features: Sliding dropouts to run either SS (current setup) or geared.

Size: Medium 18" 23.6 effective top tube (catalog)

Color: Infinity black

Straight non-tapered 1 1/8" head tube

Seatpost sizing is 27.2 mm

Components

2007ish Karate Monkey frame (black) with unmatching (dark green) Surly fork full-time 29er

Custom Stans ZTR 355 wheelset with Paul Components hubs setup as tubeless

Chris King headset

Avid Juicy Ultimate 160mm hydraulic brakes. Front brake left uncut as I pulled it from a suspended bike. Cut to fit or add suspension. Rear brake could use a bleed.

Thomson stem 110mm length

Easton ea50 bar

Specialized lock on grips

27.2 Thomson Elite seatpost

Selle Italia Flite Gel saddle

Spot chainring bashguard

Spot 32t chainring

Some sort of 18t freewheel (shimano?)

Shimano XT or LX (I think) cranks not square taper but not a 2 piece either. The octalink version I believe.

Black bottle cage (whoa) and working tires!

Eggbeater pedals not included as eggbeaters are junk anyway, right?

$750.00 or thereabouts

$700.00 or around about there

$650.00 or within reason

SOLD

Options: Disc or rim brake friendly

This frame is used obviously from the photos but I rode it sat in the basement starting in 2009 when I got my other primary SS. This bike was only used briefly in 2012 while awaiting a replacement SS frame. This bike make you strong as ox.

are the paul hubs front and rear

or just a rear    is it a flip flop rear hub    are the hubs sealed bearing or sealed unit loose balls

any way to go to a solid axle in the rear  not a QR?

what lacing pattern is on the wheels  3x 4x???  who laced them???

is the bar oversized and how wide???

does it climb like a billy goat?

Let me try and answer all that. Putting on my mechanic's hat now.

are the paul hubs front and rear   - Yes

is it a flip flop rear hub - No, but I ran it as a fixie every winter with a 6-bolt cog attached where the disc rotor would go on the hub.

are the hubs sealed bearing or sealed unit loose balls - The balls are sealed nicely and the rear set was replaced once.

any way to go to a solid axle in the rear  not a QR? - Yes, i have the solid axle kit and will throw it in the deal. I ran it as a solid axle originally.

what lacing pattern is on the wheels  3x 4x???  who laced them??? - Don't know the lacing. Mesa Cycles built them up.

is the bar oversized and how wide??? - Bar is older so it's not oversized. The bars are wider than XC but narrower than DH. My tape measure is unavailable right now.

does it climb like a billy goat? - That all depends on your riding preference. I can move pretty fast on it and a carbon fork would make all the difference.

It's a Surly and they don't let you down.

does this help?

Thanks for asking

No, I want to sell as complete. Looking to clear out the inventory since I don't ride as much.

Hi frankky, you seem very much like a scripted kindly scammer considering there are alresdy pics on this topic. Your only other post is to buy a saddle - posted today - via cashiers check and again, you need more pics and kindly conditions. Lastly, you copy/pasted the item title for sale in your response verboten, proper caps and all.

Here let me go check on your ip. I'll be right back.

I know your type from eBay.

Wow, I'm thinking that with your ip being from Lagos, Nigeria that the shipping charges may be excessive.

Would you still like to proceed or should I just delete your account now?

Good English for the most part but there's a few phrases you gotta master first. Have you tried etsy.com for some designer cat blankets yet?
