Does anyone have a clue what the conditions are at SIUE since Gigi last checked them?  I know we had rain Tuesday night/ Wed morning, but maybe I'm being over optimistic.

Checked it out today and it's about 90% rideable.

 

Trail 6 should be avoided for now though. The lower section between the chunk of concrete across from 2 and the switchback is heavily rutted and HAB only. It gets very little sun and will be quite a while before it dries.

 

Everywhere else was soft and momentum was hard to find but I rode almost everything and picked up no mud on tires or frame or left a trace. Unfortunately there is some deep rutting in low spots and on north facing slopes made by those who just couldn't wait a couple more days. One clown put down an inch and a half deep line nearly the length of Trail 1 then laid down a little more on 4 and 3.

 

Trail 8 was surprisingly tight. The new loop has seen some traffic and is starting to bed in a bit.

 

Some small deadfall on 3 and maybe 6. 2 could use some corridor clearing.

 

So if we get some weather tomorrow, but not too much, I'd say Thursday night is out for sure but next weekend would probably be alright.

Rode some of the trail tonight to see how much was soaked up. The trail was in really good condition with really only a few puddles. By tomorrow it will be perfect.
