I have a dumb question.  If it's your 1st race and you don't want to get slaughtered, you sign up for CAT3 level at the Greensfelder Challenge correct?  The last thing I want to do is get it backwards and sign up for CAT1 thinking it's for the newbies.  Thanks

Yes, that is correct.  Cat 3 is the beginner race.

Just to note, cat 3 will only do 1 lap of the course.  That's about 8 miles and anywhere from 40 to 1:15 of racing.  If you are confident in your skills and endurance, it's worth it to race cat 2 where you will do 2 laps.  It's more bang for your buck.  If you think you're going to be mid-pack, why not get in the extra lap.  You might end up doing better than you think.

Is there any current information (date, time, registration, etc) out there for the Search for Bigfoot race at Lost Valley in August?

I am new to mountain biking and enjoying every mile of it. I usually get around Lost Valley in about an hour and 20 minutes. I am not looking to set any records, just want to get out and ride in a more competitive atmosphere. I assume Cat 3 at these types of races would be appropriate. Thanks in advance for your time.

Is there an age limit for the Heros 100k? I would do the 50k as well.

As far as I know there is no age limit on any of the local races. If you can hammer out 6 laps at Lost Valley the 100k is the way to go.

Im guessing if you can ride a bike and have someone sign the liability waiver you should be good.
