St. Louis County Parks and Great Rivers Greenway will be adding some new trail to Cliff Cave.

Here is a link that will show the plans.

Scroll down to the slide that show the existing trail in red.

Care has been taken to keep the existing natural surface trails as separated as possible from the new paved trail.

Plans are to start construction later this year possibly in October.

It is estimated to take 8 or 9 months to complete.

Future plans will tie this trail to the trail now in place that the ends at Jefferson Barracks Park.

I really like the fact that we now will be able to climb up from the lower lot, cross the creek , then cross the entrance road and have access to the Bluff Trail via this new trail.

Thanks for posting, Kevin!  St. Louis County has included us in the planning for this new trail and tried to minimize the impact it will have on the existing trail system.  Great maps!

Oh no! This is terrible news.   One of the few patches of unspoiled woods in the near St. Louis area, and we have to run a paved trail through it. Sad.
