VOLUNTEER LIST UPDATE and Booth Layout

We could use a few volunteers for the 1-4 shift

On Saturday June 11 the Life Outside festival will be held at Creve Coeur Lake and GORC will be there all day as an event sponsor and vendor. We'll be on hand to discuss local mountain biking opportunities and trail building events. We will also be on hand to discuss the upcoming Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day and what Trail Stewardship is all about. We may even have a spontaneous game of bean bag toss break out.

Now, to the important part of this post.

GORC needs your help to manage our 10x10 booth. The event runs from 10am till 7pm Saturday June 11. We need your help in order to make this event a success.

Set up is from 8 - 9:30am on Saturday and we must provide a popup tent with weights or stakes and provide our own chairs, so bring 'em if you got them.

My prediction is that there will be waves of festival goers and we will need volunteers on hand to discuss the overall scope of GORC, our local trails and answer any questions to the best of your knowledge. I'm hoping 3-4 people per time block (keep reading...) can manage the booth at a time.

I think setting up blocks of volunteer time is the way to go since it's a looong day. Doing so will allow our volunteers to get out and explore the Life Outside festival and free up the rest of your day.

Blocks of 3 hour segments would mean a minimum of 9 people are requested to help manage the GORC booth (but not all at the same time).

9:00 (help with setup) - 1pm /// Lisa and Matt, Jason Zoll, Mark Davis and Chris, Jon Anderhalter(?)
1 - 4pm /// Alane, Kevin Ginther, Karen Einig(?)
4 - 7pm (help with tear down. 7pm is end of festival.) /// Diana Gores, Craig Seibert, Johnny Donjoian, Bryan and Steph Adams

Merchandise, membership, Q/A, and assisting with the 'interactive' portion of our time is needed. Short discussions of Take A Kid MTB Day and Trail Stewardship will be our interactive portion, maybe even some bean bag on the side.

Things We Need
=Popup with stakes
=Chairs
=Trail Tools to Show/Demo
=Sandwich info board / brochures
=Merchandise

Please post below if you are able to help so that we can put together a list and schedule.

Lisa and I will be there for setup and have the info board/ brochures and will bring any merch we have and a credit card processor.

We do have a pop up but it's kinda banged up.

We will be there for the first time block 9 - 1pm.

Looks like I will be able to help out.  Will check and see if there is a time that works best. (Eyeing an earlier slot)

Also have a pop-up if necessary.

To Alane, and others who may think they aren't "qualified" to help out ...

Your passion and enthusiasm for mtb riding are more important than having attended the last 7 Take A Kid MTB Day events, or being a crew lead at workdays.  If you know the answer to a question, great!  If not, feel free to refer people to our website.

The website has links that

and much more.

I don't get off work 'til 4:30 on Sat.  I can be there around 5pm and stay til the end.  I may be able to be "sick" the last hour of work and sneak out early and get to the Life Outside by 4pm.     - Diana

Bump to top, so people can see where our staffing needs are.

Also, the more peeps we have on hand during a segment makes it easier for all.

I will be there for the 4-7 shift.   I should be on time, but can for sure stay for the teardown.  Music is choice!

Be sure to bring a chair if you have one, no guarantees as people come and go as to what will be available.

I second Alane's opinion.  I am not as knowledgeable as some folks, but would gladly help out with the 1 PM to 4 PM shift.  I can bring camp chairs.  Also, although not a game of bags, I could bring a game of washers.

Yes, we could use another person to help 1-4 so thank you Ben!  I don't know how many activities will be going on or how much space we have so I'm not sure if I can bring the bag game.

If you still need volunteers, I can be available for 9-1 or 1-4, whichever you need
