Kevin and I worked thru about 3 tanks of gas clearing all the known downed trees that were across the tread, on both the Bluff and Spring Valley side trails.  Some brainstorming of possible lines just east of the bridge occurred; that section will be similar to the techy areas of the Oxen Mill Loop @ Matson, or the newest reroute on Blue Ribbon.  (A "pick your way through the various rocks" piece of trail.)

Please keep an eye on the forum for possible workday opportunities over the coming holidays, or send Kevin a message through the forum if you would like to help out/see the new stuff firsthand.

Just want to re emphasize that the natural trails and the new paved trails are still closed.

Please respect the County's wishes and be patient.

They have made great progress, however the cold weather has limited what can be done.

Currently they are completing the last section of paved trail.

This section starts at the railroad tracks and climbs to the bridge that crosses the creek in front of the cave.

We have been working on a couple sections on the Bluff Trail in preparation for the Feb. 24 trail build.

Here are a couple of pics:

We have an official opening date for all the trails.....May 4th at 10am !

It's been a long project and they have really done a great job.

The 2 trail systems are really going to compliment each other.

We are doing our best to get the natural surface trail done in time for the opening.

Hope to see you on the trails!

Hard to see from the pictures, but trail users will have multiple lines to choose from on this section.  While 'mild' at this point, several seasons of tread displacement/erosion will make this a challenge.

ALSO, there is still work to be done.

If you want to learn, help out, or assist in any way, please feel free to contact Kevin or Stephen; https://gorctrails.com/contact-us.  (Cliff Cave Trail Steward's).

Craig/Kevin/Stephen, can any riding be done at Cliff Cave on single track as of now?  Or is it all closed until May 4th?  Tx, Alane

The park is closed until 5-4. There isn't supposed to be anyone in the park until it opens.

So, yes, the trails are closed until 5-4.
