So, my name is Seth. Ive been biking for 8 years and I did a couple trail builds with you guys last Fall. I really got inspired to make the shiz out of some trails after those couple trail days and reading/watching LOADS of articles on how to build singletrack. SO, Ive got some questions after creating a half mile or so trail throughout my privately owned woods. Ive attached a few photos for reference. If you look at the photo of the whole trail and most of its features you'll notice I have nothing on the uphill sections. Its literally just flat boring trail. Im wondering what you guys might recommend adding to spruce up these sections. Ive got grade reversals and such throughout but nothing else. Would adding a rock garden or something be about my only option or what? Would love any feedback on this, because there are zero natural features to use on the uphills at the moment.
Also, does anyone have any information on privately owned trails? Things pertaining to liability issues, environmental problems, or any permissions necessary even though I own the property? I would love to get some people out to ride the little guy but Im not trying to get sued if someone hurts themselves.
Lastly, Ive attached two more pictures to show that I'm only on 4 acres at the moment with the trail. I circled the area in RED within the green area that my trail is at right now, but I have the ability to utilize that entire green section which is around 26-27 acres of mine and my fathers privately owned property. I would like to develop trails throughout the whole thing much like what I've got now and much more difficult things. Stuff to really hone your skills on, because I haven't really found anything in STL that has any freeride kind of stuff. So, I guess Im wondering if anyone else has any desire for something like this? Freeride/Cross country trail.
Thanks ahead of time to anyone that can answer some of these questions!
