So my son is taking Cycling Merit Badge and the last requirement is to ride 22 miles in one day on mountain bike trails. He is 13 and has good endurance but the Berryman Trail seems to be the only nearby trail that would be long enough to do this. The problem is that this is a pretty tough trail for a 13 year old to ride all in one go. The other option is to ride Bootlegger at Creve Couer Park like 4 times in one day. This also seems like a bad idea (it might complete the written requirements for the merit badge but who wants to ride the same trail multiple times in one day?). I don't consider the Katy Trail mountain biking so now what? Does anyone have any ideas on how to ride 22 miles in one day without riding a solid intermediate trail the entire time or the Katy Trail? Thanks!!!

Indian Camp Creek. Mix up the directions with the Ridge Trail and connectors to the bottoms. Kind of like a figure 8.

Maybe its time for a St Charles County Park Tour. Bangert, Bromm, ICCP, Matson, Klondike. Hit all of them once. Should make for a nice day of travel. Get up early . Have the scout do all of the work on travel directions.(driving routes) and riding routes on the trails. (Map work is good stuff for them)
