We are hoping to get 30+ volunteers to help continue building the Scenic Overlook Connector. This last-minute build day was slotted into the calendar to help us get a jump on getting this connector finished by spring 2018.

We are asking anyone with crib wall and drainage crossing expertise (cough, ROCK HOLLOW TRAIL WIZARDS) to come help out on this day to get the trail successfully through a steep drainage crossing. There's some neat geological features that must be incorporated into the design and 3 big spartacus-level rocks that need moved if possible. One rock will be used as a slab to cross a wet-weather drain.

You can see the drainage crossing in the satellite image at the bottom of this post.

What: We will continue where we left off building the half-mile Scenic Overlook Connector trail. We need several experienced builders to help successfully build through a steep drainage to ensure the trail is solid and sustainable for both bikers and equestrians. It will connect the Scenic Overlook with Eagle Valley using a portion of the Beulah trail. The intersection will be within the vicinity of Split Rock and descend down to the intersection of Eagle Valley and North Green Rock. The connector will create a variety singletrack looping options.

Where: Greensfelder Park, Allenton Rd. behind Six Flags.
NOTE: Park at the Beulah Shelter located about a half mile down Scenic Loop Road - the road inside the park.

What to bring: Gloves, Sturdy shoes, eye protection, snacks and something to drink on the trail.
