The trails at SIUE are in really good shape. However, there is one spot on trail 4 that stays muddy while the rest of the trails are bone dry. It's a low spot with no obvious paths around. I am guessing the coordinates are about (38.804426, -89.993619) if google maps is working right. I should have turned on location tagging on my phone. I'm wondering if any one has any good ideas on a remedy for this. I'd be willing to spend some time working on it if we had a plan.

You've probably noticed that while the area is a muddy mess at the moment, there really isn't a consistent drainage flow through it. It appears to be a seasonal thing that happens mostly in spring, when the ground is really saturated. It does occasionally happen other times of the year as well, but not that often.
There are a few other spots on Trails 1 and 3 which currently have standing water on them for the same reason.
I guess it hasn't been a real high priority because of the temporary nature, and the fact that it hasn't gotten much worse over the last few years.
I talked to Steve about it at the last trail build, and he mentioned there was talk of maybe putting in a turnpike or a causeway to raise the tread up a bit.
If you'd like to help, he would be the one to contact (@sasmith here on the forum).
