After the big winds on Saturday, a buddy and I hiked Matson on Sunday.

We cleaned a lot of debris and moved all of the trees that we could. Luckily there are only 2 Trees that are currently blocking the trail.

One clump is small enough for a packsaw. I had left mine in my other pack. The other tree is 16" diameter or so. See attachment.

The trail condition of the Matson Hill Loop is not good though. I have never seen that many footprints in this trail. I was concerned for

overflow hikers from the Lewis and Clark trail and my concerns were valid. Hopefully it will recover with some tires though the center

tread is becoming a rut in many places and the footprints are holding water. Oxen Mill is still in OK condition as the hikers basically stayed

on the first loop.

The workday is April 6th. I was going to have a maintenance day at Switchback Hill but may move it to the Matson Hill Loop. Stay Tuned.

Exciting things will be coming to Matson in the next few years as the expansion buzz starts to increase.
