From the STL MTN Bikers page, Saturday JANUARY 25, 2020
8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Al Foster Trail Work Day
Public · Hosted by Karen Casey Holtmann We will meet at Sherman Beach Trailhead at 8:30AM for sign in and gathering tools. We will then head to the section of Al Foster in between Sherman Beach and Cedar Bluff to cut and clear the debris and honey suckle along the trail before the spring growth. Plan on wearing long pants, long sleeve shirts, and, gloves. We will have extra eye and ear protection. We will have tools, trimmers, lopers, and folding saws. Glenn will have his chainsaw if needed. If you have something you would like to use, feel free to bring. Don't forget some water. This is a great event to bring the family to get involved. Don't forget the Stache 5 mountain bike give-a-way where each volunteer who is a GORC member is entered into the drawing which is coming up April! 11th at the Mountain Bike Shed Anniversary Party!

I plan on bringing some of the yellow buckets so we can pick up any trash we find along the Trail. Also if we have anyone that wants to come out and help but is injured we need a few people to walk along the Trail and keep the other Trail users aware of what we are doing. You wouldn't need to be able to lift anything. We need people to move the cut honey suckle away from the Trail as it gets cut.
